The Otherside

Some universes either create pocket universes or parallels connected to themselves. Fogworld and Otherworld (Silent Hill), the Upside Down (Stranger Things), the Ascendant Plane (Destiny), Witch's Labyrinths (Puella Magi), and even the parallel Enterprise in Star Trek are examples of these alternate universes.

When people enter this world, the world adopts aspects of their universe, physical properties. A summons can call upon the same gods. A spirit can reach through to find someone. A power sourced from a distant strength can remain connected. But when something enters and tries to reach one of their parallels, they connect with something called the Otherside.

Galilee knows about the Otherside, but little about it. They have figured out its basic rules.

-The Otherside contains no sentient people. However, someone traumatized may accidentally manifest beings that represent that trauma.

-It looks like an exact duplicate of your world from the moment that it's occupied. If someone goes in, it creates a set-point. That person can move about and change things as they please, but nothing in the real world changes to match. Buildings can be destroyed, vehicles mangled, or even simply moving a bottle. Nothing will change back in the real world. When someone leaves and there's no one remaining in Otherside, it resets.

-Injuries sustained in the Otherside are real and will remain if someone leaves.

-However, objects that are taken from the Otherside disappear in the real world. Whether this is a priceless power gem or a belly full of food.

-One has to create their own entry and exit points to the Otherside. This can be purposefully or accidentally.

-Both the Nanotech swarm and Uncle Sam are aware of its existence.
